Coastal Community Association of South Gulf County, along with Sheriff Mike Harrison and his officers, teamed up to hippity-hop all over Gulf County, making sure every kid in need had a visit from the Easter Bunny.
Over 300 baskets and stuffed animals were delivered to the sheriff’s office for distribution. The South Gulf County Volunteer Fire Department picked up all the donations from the drop-off sites and delivered them to Sheriff Mike.
The baskets were made possible by the generous donors in Gulf County. The Murphy Foundation donated a matching fund of $1,500, and that was matched and better!
The Lions Club of Port St. Joe, Capital City Bank, Gulf 2 Bay Construction, Drs. Ann Brown and Fred Thomason, the Ladies Golf Association of St. Joseph Bay Golf Club, the John C. Gainous VFW Post #10069 and Auxiliary #10069, and Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital Gulf staff collected baskets and cash donations, and numerous individual caring citizens made it all possible with their donations.
In addition to the donated baskets and stuffed toys, George Duren at The Piggly Wiggly came to the rescue at the last minute and found us over 200 baskets from their suppliers that they let us have at cost. Thanks to everyone who made it possible for children to have a visit from the Easter Bunny.
Happy Easter to each and all.
