Entertainment shapes up for March 9 Duck Derby
Duck Derby entertainment will be El Papi, Shane Johns, Forgotten Coast Dancing Witches, and our very own Lora Ellen Robertson! We have 12 non-profit organization vendors and four non-profit information booths! The GFWC Wewahitchka Woman’s Club partnered with Charles Whitehead Public Library with the third grade library card drive. Woman’s Club members volunteered to read to the students each week during the month of January. After a successful month, all third-grade students were treated to a pizza party in the cafeteria. Each student received a slice of Hungry Howie’s pizza, a snack cake, and a bottle of water.
Women returning to work are invited to apply for one of the three $3,000 scholarships from GFWC Florida. Qualified candidates are women who need assistance with funding their education to achieve their goal of becoming self-sufficient through gainful employment. Meet the Editor
David Adlerstein, The Apalachicola Times’ digital editor, started with the news outlet in January 2002 as a reporter.
Prior to then, David Adlerstein began as a newspaperman with a small Boston weekly, after graduating magna cum laude from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. He later edited the weekly Bellville Times, and as business reporter for the daily Marion Star, both not far from his hometown of Columbus, Ohio.
In 1995, he moved to South Florida, and worked as a business reporter and editor of Medical Business newspaper. In Jan. 2002, he began with the Apalachicola Times, first as reporter and later as editor, and in Oct. 2020, also began editing the Port St. Joe Star.
